Post subject: Op on Friday quick question Im going for my op on friday when i went for my pre op i asked if it was keyhole and she said its kinda like keyhole but the hole will be slightly bigger is this right or is that what they call open surgery. Im confused?? xx

Post subject: I believe that would still count as laparoscopic Shelly. Open would be when they made an incision large enough to expose the whole area they are working and get fingers right in there. Laparoscopic involves the surgeon inserting his instruments and a tiny camera to see what he is doing but not actually to have his hands in there directly.
I know I have replied after you've actually had the op but I hope I've cleared the question up and not confused anyone.
