Post subject: Help screaming baby after feeding!
I just had a 10lb baby boy September 7th he drinks about 4ozs every feeding I try to balance 2oz of breast milk and 2oz of similac formula for fussiness and gas,
He has just started screaming looking like he is in so much pain after he eats,
He throws his fists, around turns red, shakes his head, screams, kicks his legs straight out sometes or sometimes he will bring them to his chest.. I don't know what's wrong y dad is a rn and thought it could be very bad gas and colic but I bought some medicine I can give him three doses in thirty minutes seems to calm him for only a short short period of time. His crying and screaming lasts a minimum of 5 minutes and can last up to an hour and thirty minutes
His poop is normal the medicine on the box said it can change his poop and not to be alarmed.. He is my big tank it kills me to see him screaming, he also spits up cottatge cheese like spit up..
Please help.. Maybe I should change his formula?
My father and also my brother couldn't drink regular formula my brother couldn't process protein and y dad had to be put on soy formula...
Any tips would be greatly appreciated
Thanks,
Mady

Sound very much like colic/ reflux especially if he is possiting milk after feeds. I had the same problem with my boy. You first need to see the gp to rule out any illness, they can check his ears etc make sure he doesn't have an infection. If that's ok they may suggest trying a comfort formula, I used cow and gate comfort and infacol before his feed. The gp prescribed gaviscon in case it was reflux. It helped but unfortunately a lot if babies go through this horrible phase, for some it may only last a few weeks, my boy had it for 4 months, my nephew had it u til 8 months. I think the crying from colic and reflux was hardest part of being a mum for me. You just have to ride the storm. I hope he gets over it quickly x

Hi I've read an article recently about a baby who couldn't tolerate or break down the proteins in the milk. If this is what your family members had and you think it may be what your little one has you need to do something right away as it can make babies incredibly unwell! Xx

Mady,You should consult with your baby doctor as I think there can be some problem to your baby while swallowing the milk as my friend's baby was also having the same problem and by consulting the doctor her baby is now alright so hope the same problem can be with your baby also.
