temper

Post subject: temper My son will be 1 next wknd (thought might as well write it in this forum!) He is such a star and usually very happy and smiley but when he is cross he has quite a temper! He throws himself back on the floor and will scream (a very piercing scream!!!!) I am unsure as to how to handle this. Obv he is still very young but I would like to try and show him that this is not gonna get him what he wants! At the minute we just ignore him and carry on doing as we do but his temper seems to be getting worse! My daughter was soooo laid back when she was this age so this is a new one for us! Any ideas on how to handle this???

Post subject: My once very placid baby has turned into a toddler who likes to loose control!! I am doing the same making sure he is safe and ignoring him until he stops. Once he gains some understanding I am going to introduce a naughty spot for bad behaviour and just ignore tantrums! My DD was a placid child too until she turned 5 abd since then she has been a highly strung individual (12 now!) so I am hoping I am not in for another many years of it with my son. Hence why I'm hoping tackling it now will help.
