Post subject: shingles my mum has just been diagnesed with shingles and is due to visit me in 16 days,by wich time I will be twelve weeks pregnant. I really dont want to ask her not to come as i only see her once a year. Any advice please?

Post subject: I had this dilemma too about a month ago!!
I spoke to midwife and GP. Shingles isn't contagious like chicken pox is. You can't catch it. Shingles is a dormant virus that sits in us all and it's another virus that you catch that can wake it up. So you'll be fine!! But speak to MW if unsure!! xx
