I had my baby girl yesterday by emergency c-section, 35+1 weeks weighing 4lb 3oz, called Poppy Grace...
Was a bit of a surprise to say the least!
All the way through this pregnancy I have fortnightly monitoring appts for all different problems, such as low platelets, high protein levels, spd and low blood pressure, then thursday i started to feel more 'not myself' and started to swell. Long story short... Went in sunday for reassurance for dizzyness and general feeling out of sorts and started being treated for severe pre-ecalampsia which has led to my kidneys not functioning properly which has been building up for several weeks apparently.
Poppy is in SBCU and being treated for slow growth, low sugar levels and poss infection from the PE, but is now stable (i had a load of steroid injections to develop her lungs so she is good in the vocal compartment already!) and im now on a cocktail of tablets, drips, injections and tests to stabilise my kidneys and blood pressure and avoid seizures that they think im still at high risk for. Not sure how long we are in for, but when we do get released i have to self inject for up to 6 weeks to avoid dvt.
scary thing is, i did not notice it building, and put it down to tiredness as i work 45 hours weeks and then evenings run around after evie.
Anyway, thats where i am at, still in total shock but we are being really looked after.
Now to try to get some more sleep now the morphines kicked in again
