Hi, I know this is a late reply but wanted to reply as when I had my little boy I got so confused with what was the best way so I wanted to post this for any other mums that are confused. If I have another baby I will be sticking to this way as it works. Boil kettle, sterilise bottles, fill bottles with hot water and leave to sit at room temp. Use bottles as and when you need them by adding formula powder. Because they are room temp the powder mixes perfectly. I didn't even bother heating them as they were not 'fridge' cold, and my little one drank them fine. They get use to what you set for them. If you do want to mix the powder up at the time of preparing the bottles they must then go in the fridge, because as soon as the powder is mixed bacteria can grow, but then you have to do the whole reheating rigmarole. I always prepared enough bottles for 24 hours so would have a bottle sitting on the side waiting to be mixed for my little ones morning feed. Hope this helps.
