Hi DL05,

Thanks, I ight look into that, I doubt my surgeon will help me prescribe it yet as it only been 3 months TTC, I'll read up on soy, do yu know why it takes time after reversal, ???? Is it the tubes are swollen, or what, and your right , it's a killer wait, I have so much doubt in myself and my partner, the pressure is immense, it's made it a chore and not love, I'm Aways doubting the surgery hasn't worked and the tubes have sealed, I know there is a test but its a whopping 462 and then it's a 120 consultation fee to explain the outcome, I'm still struggling to pay off the credit card for the op.
right I'm off to the soy section to look into that xxx

Depends on your age Salad ? Some docs don't see any point in waiting if you're over 35 , I think mine would probably have given it after my Op if I'd thought to ask then Question
No real idea why it seems to take a while after the reversal Question
Maybe some of it is related to us all being a bit older , the swelling in the tubes goes down pretty quickly so it shouldn't be that but they're such delicate things and quite complex as well with how they work, so maybe it takes them a bit sometimes to get back into the swing of things Question
Timing might be more important after as well as often you lose some of the bit of the tubes that help nourish the sperm and keep them alive if they get there early ,or the bit that makes the mucous that helps propel the sperm and egg together , so that might play a part Question
If nothings happening by 6 months in your GP should refer you for tests if you ask, I had my HSG on the NHS as its considered an investigation , privately at the spire hospital I went to its £260 and no charge for explaining the results, so if you did want one in a few months and the GP said no then its worth shopping around , Good luck with the soy section, thats a very long post Shocked Laughing Oh and my names Nat by the way xx

Thanks nat, I looked and I've decided to go for it, I went out and bought some soy from tesco, it was rated and cheaper, and I know what dose to take, plenty of people have took it after years of trying and got preg straight away, I e also bought a bumper pack of ov strips too, in case it messes with my cycle a bit, lets hope it works, if not I'm trading in my partner for a younger model lol, oh the joys of TTC lol x

WHEN I TOOK IT AFTER THE MEDICINE IT WAS 53.9..... I ASKED FOR THE CLOMID DUE TO MY AGE I WILL BE 38 IN 2 WEEKS... I DONT KNOW HOW IT IS WHERE YALL LIVE BUT IN THE STATES U SEE A OB/GYN DOCTOR FOR ALL YOUR FEMALE NEEDS AND U DONT HAVE TO GET A REFERRAL FOR IT...YOUR RIGHT IT IS LIKE A CHORE Laughing Laughing BUT IT HAS TO BE DONE.... IT WAS DEPRESSING WHEN I GOT MY FIRST AF AFTER TRYING THE FIRST TIME...I REALLY HOPE YOU GET YOUR BFP SOON!!!!

NAT THANKS FOR THE ADVICE.. I DID BD JUST INCASE.. YOUR RIGHT ABOUT THE PRE SEED Laughing Laughing Laughing .... SO WHAT IS UP WITH THE SOY? WHAT DOES IT DO TO HELP YOU?

The soy works practically the same way as clomid Shelly , its just milder,it helps boost your oestrogen levels, you shouldn't take it with clomid as you don't want to go too far in one direction though Smile
Over here the docs are a bit different on the NHS you see a GP (general practioner) for everything (except emergencies) if they feel you need to see a consultant or specialist doctor at a hospital then they do a referral (or not with all the current cut backs Rolling Eyes ) You can't self refer , its a pain really and makes having any sort of fertility issues more of a problem than it needs to be ,GP's are pretty much useless when it somes to fertility as its not really part of their training Question , under 35 they won't refer you until you've tried for a year and over 35 you have to try for 6 months, but then it can take months for an appointment and then more delays on waiting lists before getting treated Rolling Eyes
The only way round it is private treatment which is very expensive Question xx
Salad I tried Soy for quite a few months when first trying , in fact right from the first month Embarassed Laughing I'd already been BBT charting for about 5 months and noticed on soy I had temp changes while taking it, and would get raised temps for about the first week of my cycle Question I also found that taking it cd1-5 meant I ov'd earlier but when I took it cd3-7 I ov'd later Question
Some women find the opposite though Rolling Eyes Laughing
It can be a bit trial and error, i would start with a low dose though, about 80mg seems to be the norm ( I got the tesco ones too ), and then if no luck this month maybe up it a little each month like the docs suggest with clomid Question
You do have to be a little cautious as anything that dramatically raises oestrogen levels can very slightly increase the risk of an ectopic ,something to do with the tube not letting go of the egg as it should as oestrogen makes muscles more tense and the tube is supposed to hold the egg for about 4 days after fertilisation but then as progesterone rises after ov it relaxes the tube and lets the egg move to the uterus, if oestrogen is too high it can stop that happening Question So its always best to take the lowest dose that does the trick xx
Had another nice relaxing day Very Happy caught up on some tv that I'd recorded but not had chance to watch and put my feet up Laughing
I've been having the weirdest feeling low down in my abdomen today though , the closest I can describe it is like a buzzing Question almost like a very mild electric shock but not painful Question Very weird Shocked Laughing It must have happened about 6 or 7 times Question
I found myself thinking earlier that if I did ov on Friday night then something could be implanting today Shocked Embarassed Laughing so i cut that thought off right there and then Shocked Laughing can do without crazy symptom spotting for the next 10 days Laughing
On a positive note though my belly button scar is looking so much better, literally everyday I see an improvement Very Happy
I wish I'd taken pics before I started the tablets now to compare but its definately thinner, less raised, less red , the two lines where the stitches were are now clearly two seperate lines whereas they looked like one ridge and the scar from the actual cut is much flatter.
I can feel the difference in it too , one bit of it that was quite a lump (where the internal stitch had poked through and stopped it healing) went a bit itchy and bleed a little, then scabbed over (sorry if anyones eating Embarassed ) which really surprised me as its an old scar and when that came off its much less raised Shocked Question
In my forearm I can't even feel the little ridge of scar that I had under the skin where my implant was , so if this stuff is doing the same inside as outside then I can see why people rave about it Laughing
I'm actually feeling a little hopeful that it might work Very Happy

Hey girls, yeah nats right, it works so different here, I have a question thugh, I had all my tests done before I had the reversal, cycle 2-4 and 21 and all my levels are ok, but I wanna try it this month, I'm having to order a bbt thermometer off line as I can't find one in the chemist round here, I'm gonna do ov strips too, I've never charted before so it's all new to me, but I read this
Take temp each morning orally As i I sleep mouth shut and I don't fancy the bit below bit, and record it, when it drops it means I'm ov???? Or am I going to ov in the next two days, ???? Help,
And yes I got the tesco ones, I'm gonna start with 80mg days 3-7 shall I take 120 mg on day 6&7 or just the 80mg?...

I'd stick with the 80mg all the days at first Dawne , and I use a braun ear thermometer for my BBT Question as long as you use the same one all the time and it has enough decimal places than I don't think it matters where you put it Shocked Laughing
I also found that getting up and going to the loo before I took it didn't affect it, its only anything strenuous that throws it off , erm I don't always see a dip before Ov Question I did have one this month though on the friday morning of about .4 of a degree and it was still down a little on Saturday which i'm certain was the latest that I could have ov'd , if you do catch one then its probably because you're getting your surge so ov can happen anytime up to 48hrs or so after , maybe even a bit more, its hard to say as it varies from woman to woman and month to month Question
You should see how long your surge is though on the OPK's Smile
I've learnt nothing is set in stone when it comes to TTC and have had surges as short as a few hours and as long as 5 days Shocked Laughing and you can ov before you even realise you're having it or after it finishes Question Rolling Eyes Laughing
I don't use OPK's anymore just watch temps and cm changes, and if I see watery or clear cm then start BD and try and do every day or otherday until I get that temp rise and then I know I can't have missed it Laughing
With the OPK's we would do the night I first saw my surge and try and do the next 2 or 3 nights as well Question
most dos say only count it as your first day if AF arrives before 5pm, some even say the cut off is dinner time Question
For me I say as long as its full on AF not spotting then I count it as my first day if it happens before bed time Laughing xx

Ok, wow it's so confusing, so I was going to start with soy tommorow but ill leave it til Friday, I'll start my charting Friday too As I don't get it til tommorow, 4.99 off amazon. It comes with a chart but I'm gonna use my fertility friend too, my partner is ok with doing it this way as long as I don't talk about it lol Question
He like most men don't wanna hear about it more than once, it's like " ok I agree let's try for a baby". And that's all they wanna know til your pregnant ha ha,
So, wish me luck, xxx Roll Censored

NAT THANKS!!! BUT I NEVER HEARD OF THE SOY BEFORE....

DAWNE IM LIKE NAT IF AF IS NORMAL I COUNT IT AS CD1...AND NO QUESTION IS TUPID BELIEVE U ME I HAVE ASK SOME WEIRD ONES AND THESE WONDERFUL LADIES HAVE ALWAYS MADE ME FEEL LIKE ITS OK Very Happy Very Happy.......

THAT SUCKS THAT YALL HAVE TO GO THROUGH A GP FIRST BEFORE U CAN SEE ANOTHER DOCTOR.. I GUESS ITS DIFFERENT IN EVERY COUNTRY.. I BET THE GP GETS OVERLOADED WITH REFERRALS AND THEN IT PROB TAKES WEEKS TO MONTHS FOR SOMEONE TO GET BACK TO YALL...DID YALL HAVE TO HAVE A REFERRAL TO GET THE REVERSAL? I FOUND A DOCTOR THAT DOES IT AND JUST MADE THE APPT AND HAD IT DONE NO REFERRAL OR PERMISSION FROM A DOCTOR.. MY INSURANCE DIDNT COVER IT I HAD TO PAY $5,250... AFTER MY SURGERY I WENT TO MY OB DOCTOR THAT I HAVE ALWAYS SEEN FOR MY FEMALE PROBLEMS....

I think almost all of us had to go private for the reversals Shelly, in fact i can only remember Rachel having hers on the NHS, basically the NHS will do the sterilisation as they figure it will save them money but won't do the reversals Rolling Eyes
We have private Hospitals and NHS hospitals, so you can just ring the private ones direct, have a consultation (which is about 200 pounds ) and then book your Op, mine was just under £3,000 , which is about $5,000 the same as you paid, but it can be £5,000 (about $8,000) not many people have health insurance here as its so expensive and often won't cover things that the NHS won't do anyway Question .
GP referrals can take ages, it depends on the Hospitals , my first one was very quick just a couple of weeks for my HSG but , my second one was a 4 month wait , and the one for this last Op I was referred in Jan last year, had my appointment in May and had to wait until the end of October for the Op Shocked but the doc I saw was one of only 3 or 4 docs who do the Op (on the NHS)in the whole country Shocked
We really are miles behind the US in some ways , the NHS is always reluctant to try anything new unless it can be shown it will save them money Rolling Eyes and even then they drag their feet, The NICE are a body who recommends which treatments they should use and they recommend the cannulation but still the NHS don't offer it Rolling Eyes
Whereas in a country with lots of private patients you can vote with your feet and go elsewhere with your insurance cash if a doctor or hospital doesn't offer something Laughing , so the demand drives the new treatments , I noticed the same in Germany were they also have a private health care system .
I've read of US women having a HSG at their OB/Gynae doctors and if a blockage is found having a cannulation there and then using x-rays to guide them , if that was available here I could have had it done on my first HSG 6 months after my reversal and maybe got back to trying before the other scar tissue formed Question
Does your insurance cover any additional treatment now then , stuff like the clomid ?
Or a HSG if your doc thinks you need one ? xx
Salad it is a bit confusing Laughing A lot of women on here use fertility friend and find it works well most of the time, sometimes it can give you the wrong day for ov if your temps are a bit off , I tried it out but I got fed up having to adjust the charts for my temps to fit it so I charted on paper in the end Laughing now I just take my temp certain days and I know if its a pre ov or post ov temp, its weird how similar those are every month Shocked Laughing
My OH didn't want to know the ins and outs either, he didn't even want me to tell him when I was ov'ing as he didn't want to feel pressured bless him Rolling Eyes Laughing Good luck xx
