Yeah men are allowed in the delivery room Shelly, in the 60's and 70's they were discouraged Laughing but very much encouraged to be there now, they do restrict it to 2 birth partners max in most places though and just your husband or boyfriend if you have a section Smile The only time partners aren't allowed in is for sections under general anaesthetic .It's funny because before the NHS started in the 40's men would always be there for the birth as most women gave birth at home and then suddenly it became less of a family thing and much more medical and men were shut out Question
I think its swinging back the other way now as home birth is becoming more popular again Smile
I didn't pay for my HSG that was NHS but at the hospital I had my reversal at it was £270 for a private one, some places its more like 400 so about $400-600 Question
My OH's firm actually offered to pay towards private health care for him and said I could be on it too but after reading the paperwork it wouldn't have covered any of the fertility stuff anyway so we didn't bother Question
Don't even get me started on dental care Rolling Eyes Laughing even on the NHS most people have to pay towards treatments and they do the bare minimum , only do the horrible grey metal fillings and anything they consider cosmetic you have to go private for Rolling Eyes
I watched a US birth series once in a big urban hospital where they were saying they had women come in who'd never seen a doctor their whole pregnancy Shocked and would just turn up in labour with allsorts of undiagnosed problems , their infant mortality rate was the equivalent of some 3rd world countries Shocked Sad , I just think its so sad that some people just can't afford to get even the most basic medical care ,so i suppose we should be grateful we have the NHS but then we do pay for it indirectly I suppose through NI contributions Question xx

NAT THAT IS SO NORMAL IN THE US THAT WOMEN THAT ARE PREGNANT DONT SEE A DOCTOR TIL SHE IS IN LABOR. THEY CAN GET FREE MEDICAL CARE FORM THE GOVERNMENT.ITS CALLED MEDICAID.. IF U ARE A LOW INCOME FAMILY AND UR PREGNANT U WILL BE APPROVED FOR MEDICAL CARE FOR FREE AND SO WILL UR CHILDREN. SO THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR THEM NOT SEEING A DOCTOR... MOST OF THEM THAT DONT SEE ONE THEY ARE DRUG USERS.. WE HAVE SO MANY PEOPLE THAT HIDE THERE PREGNANCIES AND GIVE BIRTH THEN THROW THERE BABY AWAY IN THE TRASH.. THOSE PEOPLE ARE WORTHLESS.. I DONT KNOW ABOUT THERE BUT IN THE US IF A WOMAN IS PREGNANT AND DONT WANT THE BABY AND SHE DOESNT TELL ANYONE THAT SHE IS PREGNANT SHE CAN DROP THE BABY OFF AT A CHURCH, HOSPITAL, FIRE STATION, OR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT AND SHE WILL NOT GO TO JAIL.. SHE DOESNT HAVE TO TELL HER NAME OR NOTHING..AS LONG AS SHE DROPS THE BABY OFF NOT HARMED... SOMETHINGS HERE ARE CRAZY... BUT I GUESS THAT IS EVERYWHERE......

Hi Ladies, as most of you know I'm going for my reversal soon and just wanted to ask if its very painful like c-section pain? Also how big is the cut? I know I'm having open surgery... I'm getting nervous now and my hubby can only get 2 weeks leave Sad

Jillybeanz I had my Op keyhole so just a tiny vut in my belly button and two a few mm long on each side , but if you have the laparotomy cut then I believe its very much like the c section cut and will be around 5 inches long , I dodn't know if they cut the muscle as well which is part of what makes a c section take so long to recover from Question
The Ladies who've had open and c sections have said its very similar after ,
I have had 3 sections though and by two weeks in I could do pretty much everything I normally did except heavy lifting but I was back driving etc. (with the insurance companies approval) I would be a bit sore if I over did it though, everyone seems to be different though when it comes to recovery Question
To be honest after 3 sections it was the thought of the recovery that made me opt for keyhole , does your surgeon not offer that Question xx
Shelly some of the women were obvious drug users, it's tragic really for their poor babies , I can't understand why a pregnant woman wouldn't try and stop Sad
Not all of them though so it is strange more of them didn't get some sort of medical treatment while pregnant Question I know being pregnant isn't an illness but some things like placenta preavia and pre eclampsia can kill you and your baby so I don't understand why women wouldn't get checked if they can Question
I think the police are pretty leniant here if a woman leaves a baby somewhere that it will be found, its not legal as such but I don't think women are prosecuted for it, I can sort of understand a very young girl who's terrified of people knowing leaving her baby somewhere safe, but the ones who don't seem to care if the baby dies sicken me and sometimes they turn out to not even be teenagers but women in their 20's Confused There's so many couples willing to adopt babies there's no excuse for dumping them Question
Yep there's crazy stuff everywhere Shelly, we have our fair share of it and Britains not the country it once was, before we went to Germany I was reluctant to leave,I never thought I'd want to live anywhere else but then to be honest after 5yrs there I didn't want to come back Shocked Laughing and if we ever win the lottery we're off to somewhere with a better climate and a more laid back way off life Laughing xx

I got a second temp rise this morning Very Happy
Up to 99.4F so i think I can safely say i did ov last Friday Shocked Shocked and am 7DPO which is amazing for me never thought I'd ov on cd11 Shocked Laughing At least now I know that i do know my body well as I was doubting myself a bit thinking maybe I miss read the signs and it couldn't have been so early Question
Best bit is we'd BD Thursday and Friday , so the timing was right and it didn't matter about not bothering on Saturday Laughing
I don't know if its just because a part of me think I could be in with maybe a teeny tiny chance this month but I seem to have loads of 2ww "symptoms" going on Rolling Eyes Laughing
Nothing I haven't had before and not been pregnant mind you Rolling Eyes Laughing
Only weird one was the buzzing/vibrating over my uterus all day wednesday , now I know that was definately 5DPO and good timing for possible implantation I have to admit I did get a bit excited about it Embarassed Laughing
I obviously never learn Rolling Eyes Embarassed Laughing

Jilly beans i had it done via section, the cut is about 5-6 inches long and it is just above your origanal lowest keyhole cut, they staple it up and the staples are removed in 6 days after the op.
not long you might think but long enough, they give you a few water proof players to use when showering, but after two days thy advise to keep it uncovered to let the air get to it, I went in on a Friday, I got out of hosp on the Sunday, my partner went to work on the Monday, they encourage you to be up and walk but no lifting like hoovering ect. You can lift a kettle ect, they advised to be at work within 2 weeks, I went after 3 as my job is very heavy lifting, and your not advised to drive for two weeks, and before you do, practice your emergency stop and if you can safely do that without pain you can drive. You surprisingly don't have much pain other than discomfort, if the co-codomols are not strong enough your doctor can prescribe you stronger ones, but be warned they do make u like a zombie.
I was mildly sick on the Monday morning after taking pain killers on empty stomachs and as I was sick I felt a tear beneath the skin of the wound, and on the following Thursday I was reaching over to my bed side table and felt a bigger tear, it didn't break the skin just caused another lumpy scar tissue directly under the wound, but the doc said it was all ok, and my pre op (6) weeks after. The consultant said it was all ok xx
They advise to have one normal period before you start TTC,
Hope this helps xx

Shelly if you can afford it I'd go for it , not had one myself although we did discuss it before we found out the issue was a blockage and I would have tried it (it was very expensive here though so $460 sounds like a good price),theres a couple of ways of doing it and they have different success rates, one is on a medicated cycle with something like clomid to try and get more than one egg and probably a trigger shot to time ovulation to suit them , often they'll do tracking scans and can even put the washed sperm directly into the entrance to the tube on the side they can tell you will ov (with a thin catheter like the ones they use to replace embryo's in IVF)from so you get millions delivered practically to the egg instead of the normal 20 or 30 that make it that far .
Or you can just use OPK's and then have the washed sperm put just into the cervix when you get your surge, that way you don't have to worry about any issues with cm etc. but they still have to make their own way to your tubes so some will still die off , putting them into the tube has a better success rate Smile
Found this site that explains it all

Jillybeanz you still need to check with your insurance company about driving, some are happy if your docs fine with it, others have set times after certain op's Smile Whens your Op booked for ? xx
Woke up her this morning to a lot of snow Shocked Shocked must have been snowing all night , opened the front door and there was a wall of snow to about half way up Shocked Laughing from where it had been drifting so my plan for the weekend is to stay in and keep warm Shocked Laughing
