is toe broken or just banged?

Post subject: is toe broken or just banged? Tnite i walked into bathroom carrying v.small boxes while my DD bath was filling. Unbeknown to me, my DD left the box lids on floor. Needless to say, i slipped on them. I went dwn quickly with one leg out and the other bent under me. As i landed i felt my big toe bend.
It hurt a lot and there is redness on the top. Put an ice pack on it for 10 mins. 40 mins later, it still feels numb! What does everyone think? broken or just sore? Posted: Thu Jan 24, 2013 9:51 pm
Post subject: can you move it at all? Has it swollen, I think normally when something breaks it gets quite swollen. Can you still walk?
Maybe you just fractured rather than broken, hope its better soon. xxx _________________
