Post subject: stair gates
We have just moved into a new house and the staircase has a turn in it after the first step. This means that we cant fit a stair gate, not even slightly furth up as the spindles aren't staright and the gate wouldnt grip them properly. We havea gate at the top but my son (15mths) is currently loving playing the game of escaping from the living room and climbing teh stairs! We close the living room door but now he has mastered opening that!
Do any of you know of any wonderful stair gates that dont need a straight post to grip????!

Could you fit the stair gate to the living room door instead? I did find this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Lascal-LA12310-KiddyGuard-Safety-Gate/dp/B00009SS6B/ref=tag_stp_s2_edpp_url

Expensive though x

I wouldn't bother with one. My mums been a child minder for almost 30 years and children come to her having had no boundaries, no manners, you name it, she's had them, but she always teaches them and they just know not to go near the stairs or hit the t.v, etc which I will follow with my daughter, I think the gates just entise them even more! Xx
