Hi ladies, as the title says, when did you decide to pay a visit to your GP after getting that all important BFP?

I have handed in my forms to change doctors today and they do a routine check-up as part of their induction which I think is very good.

Its not until the 13th Feb, I will be 7 weeks then Very Happy I'm not worried about it being later, it sort of breaks up that big long wait until your 12 week scan Laughing

When I conceived my 1st, we saw the GP a few days later when I was almost 5 weeks xxx

so my old dr's didn't want to see you they said just book in with mw after 6 weeks and indeed my new surgery was the same (different counties as well)

Theres not really a need to see a dr unless you want them to confirm but having said that not all do anyway.

Was around 5 weeks this time and saw the MW at 7 weeks for the first time, I was booked in for an early scan though due to lots of problems post partum with Alyssa, so they needed to check everything's in the right place xx

I checked with the receptionist whether it was necessary to see GP it just to book direct with midwife. At my surgery I did have to see GP and went at 7 weeks. Providing you're taking folic acid and are well then that will be fine.

I always assumed you had to see the doc to be referred to a midwife... Mind you, with my first, the midwife who was assigned to me I didnt even meet, off sick all the time and cancelling appointments, so I went to see a midwife at my local surestart centre xx
