Balanced Translocation???

Post subject: Balanced Translocation??? Hello ladies
I've recently had the results back from the blood tests that we had to have done to find out why I keep miscarrying. All the results bar one came back with the all clear. The tests showed that I have a balanced translocation and I have been referred for genetic counselling. Does anyone else have this condition? _________________  Posted: Thu Feb 14, 2013 6:52 pm

It doesn't seem to be a completely rare condition but most people haven't heard of it... it's just sooo hard not to turn to google - where that could turn up all sorts of information and sometimes there is such a thing as too much information!!! _________________ Posted: Thu Feb 14, 2013 7:19 pm

Apparently: The fact it's balanced rather than unbalanced is a good thing. Odds are you will have a successful pregnancy at some point if you keep trying naturally.... but because recurrent miscarriages are so upsetting, some couples opt to go for IVF with Pre-implantation genetic diagnosis. xxx[/i] _________________
