Post subject: any advice for a baby with colic My son is 2 1/2 months old and has colic. I went to the doctor and she said it is a true textbook case of colic. She said it gets better around 3 months. I am at my witts end. I also have a 2 year old so I am so busy. My baby just cries all day long. Anyone have any advice for me. Any tricks that may have worked for your baby. I will try anything. It is so stressful.

Post subject: George had awful colic and there were a few things that helped.
Have you tried Baby Massage (videos on youtube or ask your health visitor to show you). George liked his pram so we went out a lot. Making sure I sat him up and winded him for at least 10 minutes after a feed. I propped his moses basket up very slightly so he wasn't sleeping completely flat. Infracol worked best for us but it did take a week or so to show an improvement. You have my sympathy as it's hard to see light at the end of the tunnel when they are like this. _________________ ![]() ![]() Posted: Sun Mar 10, 2013 3:27 pm
Post subject: I literally tried everything with my daughter - she had baby massage, colic drops, gripe water, infacol, winding in all sorts of positions and the only thing that made a huge difference to her was Colief.
It can be prescribed though my dr refused 'because she wasnt that bad' - only because she was already on the stuff. Colief is really expensive and a bit of a faff but it really worked for her as it helps break down lactose - it is completely different to the ones that break down gas. I did have to wean her off it as when I just took her off it she got colic again but when I did it gradually she was fine. She had colic until she was about 3 1/2 - 4 month old. Good luck _________________ ![]() ![]() Posted: Sun Mar 10, 2013 8:01 pm

Post subject: Whatever happens make sure not to stress yourself to deeply about this issue. If you feel like your going to lose it, call a friend or relative and see if they can give you a hand or a break for a little bit to compose yourself. In the end your health is just as important as theirs, and during this tough time your baby needs you healthy. Always remember, this too shall pass, you are not alone.
