Post subject: 6 months and going backwards
My son has never been a great sleeper but the last week.he has started waking twice a night for a feed and also wakes a lot moaning and fussing........i am exhausted!!

He goes down in his cot at 8 everynight and his cot is still attached to our bed....i wait to move it but if i do i will lose even more sleep because i would b constantly up and down.

He has no teeth yet but they have been bothering him on and off.....but he has always been a fussy sleeper and i dont think his teeth are causing this.

He does have eczema and when it flares up i give him piriton as told by my doc but this doesmt make any difference.

Any advice.....i am really starting to get frustrated and dread bed time!!

Thanks

Maybe he needs a bit more solids. I used to give mine a bit of baby rice then a bottle before bed. He could be waking out of habit too. Does he fall asleep drinking his milk? He might only associate going to sleep with drinking milk.
Sorry I haven't got much other advice. Others might though. Smile

Hello Smile
First of all i agree with shellm, are you weaning him yet? Lola needed food much earlier on!
Secondly, Lola did this for aggggess and i know how you feel, we actually put her in a different room and she began to sleep through :S Strange child but she's very independent and does not like sleeping in our bed or anything haha, perhaps its a blessing!
xx

I have been trying solids since 4 montgs but he is not really interested and spits most of it out! If i am lucky he will half a mashed rusk before bed.....i have tried everthing solid wise but he just spits it out. I have even put baby rice in his night bottle!

He doesnt go to sleep on the bottle he goes up about half hour after.

I guess its just the way its going to be for now....i just hope it improves soon xx

Frankie always stops sleeping properly just before she cuts a tooth. Maybe he has one cutting through - you should be able to feel it under the gum or just cutting through.

Sometimes they have some developmental jump that disturbs their sleep or it could be a growth spurt.

Its so frustrating but stick with your routine and it may pass. x

When you say everything have you tried the pots of pureed fruit you can buy? I started Lola off on them plus to get him used to solids try letting him hold a rusk and gum it. I gave Lola raisons at that age too and they were a big hit as was malt loaf. I gave her sandwiches too. I found most pureed things bored her xx

If baby is healthy and has no underlying problems, then i would just ride it out.
my 2 year old still has sleep and eating issues and we just deal with it one day at a time. it is really no use beating yourself up about it, because it is not your fault. He will eat if he is hungry and will cry if something is not right with his world.
i have a friend who's son slept 2 hours a night and the rest he played in the play pen. Doctors couldnt find anything wrong with him
he is now a healthy 17 year old and we laugh about it today.
wishing you all the best.
take care
