My ex was violent to me. I put up with him for 4 years until I just upped and left and moved 100 miles away where he couldnt find me. If it wasnt for my current oh though it wouldnt have been possible. I didnt have kids though so was alot easier to do. Dont know what I would have done if I had kids with him Question xx

i have never been in the situation but i think the police can help where your belongings are concerned hun (depends on who's name is on the property weather or not you can have him removed) and an injunction placed on him not to return to the place or near you hope this helps hun

When I left I just packed my clothes and went. Did lose a fair few belongings but it had got to the point where I didnt care. Do you have family that could help? Perhaps move to a refuge with the bits you need and then get family to go round and get the rest of your stuff when youre established. Or contact police, get him removed and get an injunction. The police take domestic violence very seriously xx

My friend was in an abusive relationship and she took him to court and got a restraining order against him. If he isnt on the tenancy and its in your name I do believe you can get the police to attend whilst he moves out. Have you tried asking ss for help in how to get rid of him and where you go from there. Im sure they will help you and it looks good to them also that you are doing everything you can to get away. Possessions and household items you can replace , being with your kids is much more important.

I do agree that the kids and of course Amie are number one here but if you don't have money to replace belongings then they also become important. Amie has mentioned her things in a couple of posts so I get the impression its not as cut and dry as just replacing them.
There are charities that specialise in domestic violence, maybe you could contact one? I googled help domestic violence and an the website came up, I can't post the link unfortunately.
Like the girls have said get a restraining order and if he isn't on your lease have him removed.

the police can remove him from the property as the property is in ur name (a restraining order can be placed on him due to the violence and the fact that SS have ur children due to the violence they will be more than willing to help remove this man )

hope u get it sorted hunny for your's and your children's sake

as it is the weekend they might go for an emergency restraining order/even keep him locked up till Monday if he becomes impossible

good luck hun
