Post subject: awake daytime crying?
Hi everyone

I am new to this site and wanted to sya hi and also ask for some advice -

my baby boy is nearly 3 weeks old (1st baby) he was a large baby 10lb 1 oz at birth by c-section and eats loads - was started on breast but did not eat for 15 hours so went onto formula which he loved and adapted to really well. I have been trying to drag out his feeds to 3/4 hours as he has had projectile vomiting after lunch time feeds - the health advisor thinks this was due to over eating being full and just getting rid of what he actually does not need. The time that he is awake during the day is awful all he does scream and fuss. i have tried everything even given 60ml of water to try and subside hunger (advised). I can not seem to keep him happy/entertained.
What am i doing wrong???

Thanks for your help

You are not doing anything wrong - you are following advice from professionals and doing the best for your baby so don't blame yourself...

see if you can get a second opinion. I am all for routine but when a baby is crying because they are hungry is another thing and for you to have to listen him must be heart breaking for you. HVs advice vary between different HVs - don't be afraid of asking for more help from them. Some areas have nursery nurses who come round (instead of the HV but in the same office) who are more specialised in their area - maybe you could see if there is one that could offer you specific support and advice

xx
