I don't think we test for it in the U.K. Question but there is a test here called the AFP test that also shows markers for Down syndrome.
I know many women are told they're high risk after having that but then go on to have an amniocentecis only to be told they have healthy pregnancies and babies who don't have Down syndrome .
Just because your level of PAPP A is below average doesn't mean you will have problems it just means that your doctors might want to keep a closer eye on you and maybe suggest some more tests to try and rule out some chromosomal problems.
I do sometimes think these screening tests cause more stress than if you don't have them as many women spend weeks worrying only to find out everything is fine.
I would speak to your doctor or midwife about it and get them to explain in more detail exactly what the next step is and what test if any they recommend.
Don't forget that to get that 'average' it means many people will have higher levels and many lower levels and very few will be exactly on the average line, so being just below it may not mean much at all. I hope everything turns out well for you xx

Just seen your post. Hope everything is going ok.
I live in the uk and if you get the downs syndrome combined test it measures your papp a in the bloods. But they only tell you what the actual breakdown of results are if you have either a concern or ask.

I had a high down syndrome risk and they all tried to refuse to tell me the papp a breakdown.

If you have no other soft markers don't worry. If you only have a low pappa a there are millions of reasons as to why that's the, all of which are innocent x
