Post subject: HCG after birth *Updated*
Well I posted a few weeks ago that we haven't exactly been careful since LO. After taking over 3 years to conceive we were just out of the habit of using contraception (silly I know). I was breastfeeding until she was 3 months old and think we have only 'dtd' once since then. This was 19 days ago. I tested about a week after and got a very clear BFN. I have just tested again though (with the intention of starting the pill tomorrow) and have got a very slight pink line.
I am so scared! Will test again in morning to see if any darker.

What I'm wondering is how long does HCG remain in your urine after birth? Is there any possibility of a false positive?

xx

From all what I can see on the net it only stays in your system 3-4 weeks, 6 weeks at most sooo I think you may be pregnant. x

Im a great believer in what will be will be, if you are then itll just be happening sooner than you planned. Isnt it funny though if you are, spent all that time ttc number 1 and number 2 happens just like that. x

Yes you're right there. It wouldn't be financially ideal but there was always hope for a number 2 at some point.

Well after a very sleepless night I've got another faint line! I am so confused. Surely when it is almost 3 weeks since we dtd, even if the swimmers lasted 3 days before ov, it would show up darker by now.

Panicking as well that the leaflet says a false positive could be caused by breast cancer. Guess I'm going to have a weekend of worry and a trip to the doctors next week.

xx

Feel for you... I had this after my daughter in 2008.. in 2009 I had another beautiful girl 11 months between them... im a great believer in fate everything happens for a reason.. I was petrified and a sobbing mess when I found out but wouldnt change it for the world now...
Im more worried now about this pregnancy 4 years later and how we will cope.. lol

I couldnt even get a faint BFP on an Asda the day I was due on, yet had a very strong BFP on a different brand 4 days later!
