Post subject: Sertraline (Zoloft) and TTC
Hi. I started zoloft in Feb this year. 50mg. As of today I'm taking 25mg as we would like to TTC again. My doctor told me Zoloft (another name for Setraline) is the only safe anti-depressant to take while pregnant. I could even stay on the 50mg.
My friend was also on it a couple years ago while pg.
But I've just read the little slip that comes in the box and it says "the safety of zoloft by pregnant women has never been proved. The potential harm to human's is unknown. Setraline should not be used during the pregnancy, unless the dr thinks it's essential (my dr also said I could stop it...), Especially during the last trimester, taking Setraline is warned against as it could cause some kind of hypertension in the baby...."

How can this be? When my dr tells me its ok and I have always heard that its okay to take Zoloft when pregnant?

Does anyone know anything about this?
