Blood Test

Post subject: Blood Test Hi All
Really new to this!! My period was due 12th October and had 3 positive home tests since then  BUT went to doc's last Thursday and they did a blood test. Got the results yesterday and whatever it is they check for half of the test is positive and half is negative?!
Just wondering if anyone has had anything similar?? They're taking my blood again on Thursday so fingers crossed but I'm a little worried now something is wrong. Would really really appreciate if anyone can give me an insight into this. Thank you. Posted: Tue Oct 21, 2008 12:41 pm
Post subject: I would do but to be honest I'm losing faith in them already!!
When the nurse was looking at the screen she asked me if it was a early morning sample and I had to actually point out to her it was a blood test not urine! Guess I just going to have to wait it out until Friday

Post subject: That many days seems like forever when you are waiting on something so important. I cannot believe they did not even explain to you your results. If you have had 3 positive tests I would say you are definately pregnant, but hopefully friday will confirm this. Good luck.

Post subject: its probably your hcg levels, around 5 weeks pregnant they should read approx 1500 or more, it may mean that your levels are low. hcg levels should double every 48 hours so this is why they need to perform another blood test.
some people do have lower levels than the norm but have a healthy pregnancy. good luck xx _________________

Thought I'd let you all know! Went back to the doc's on Monday, blood tests back all positive this time!!! Waiting for my first appointment with the midwife now

Post subject: CONGRATULATIONS x
I have had 3 positives results with Clearblue Digital tests, but my blood test from EPU came back as a 3 which means i am not pregnant. But i came home and done my 3rd digital kit and still got a clear positive. So i hope i get the same result you did on Wed when i have got to go back for another blood test. Its worrying when you're getting positives at home and they tell you its not at the doc's BUT you soon forget it when you sit there and they can actually confirm it for you
