Hi, i didnt feel my baby move until about 16/18 weeks. Its a little early to feel movements just yet. Even at 16/18 weeks, it just feels like 'bubbles' in your tummy.

As for symptoms, every woman is different - i had terrible sickness, but didnt really have tender breasts or anything which i know a lot of women get.

Why is it so late for your scan? Do they only offer one in your area? I had a scan at 13 weeks, and then at 21 weeks.

If you are ever worried, these forums are great for getting advice, but you should also be able to ring your midwife too hun xx

Hi, dont worry, you can normally start feeling your baby move around 18 weeks onwarards, especially if its your first baby. Some women feel it earlier but i think its quite rare to be honest. So you've got a little while yet im afraid.

Have you got your first scan soon?

This is my first baby and i only started feeling mine at 20 weeks, also i didnt have any morning sickness, was just bloated and constipated, so not many symptoms. Hope that eases your mind xx

Just re-read your post and see your scan is booked in quite late.. you should be offered one at around 12 weeks and then another at 20 weeks. Tell him your not happy to wait untill your 4 months gone to see if everything is ok and that you want one asap.... it cant hurt to try. Good luck xx

Hi there,

My partner is the same, she hasnt felt pregnant and she is now 18wks 4days. And she gets worried that she hasnt even felt the baby move or even had the flutters you hear people have....

I know everyone is different, but when do you first time mums to be start to feel the baby?

Dan, every woman is different, but mine was about 18weeks ish. Even then though, it felt like bubbles in my stomach (thats the only way to describe it!).

Post subject: movements
I felt our bay move around 18-19 weeks, I wasn;t sure it was the baby at first but this is normal as remember the baby is stil so very tiny at this stage and has lots of room to move. Once it grown stronger and has less room you feel the kicking more. I am now 27 weeks and the movements are so much stronger, an although they are fabulous and lets you know baby is ok and you feel closer to him/her....it can also be a little inconvenient when you are trying to sleep and if you have heartburn kicking only makes it worse.....enjoy your pregnancy, I would have liked not to have felt pregnant for the first 14 weeks...instead i was sick/dizzy and generally really unwell! xxx

i am 17 weeks tomorrow and dont think i have felt the baby move altho there have been some strange feelings lower in my belly which i am guessing is probably the baby but they are not very strong. Cant wait to feel the baby move more often.

Lisaken- i know i will probably regret saying that as my baby is definitely a wriggler. Even when I went to see the midwife last week she found it difficult to find the heartbeat because the baby was moving around so much and at my 12 week scan he wouldnt lay still.

I'm 12 +3 and I haven't felt anything yet though at my scan today baby looked like she was practicing synconised swimming. The man doing the scan kept poking her to try to make her stay still long enough for him to measure her Laughing
