Post subject: I've just put Molly in her cot for the first time tonight so my Moses basket has had a lot of use
Same for my baby bath, we're still using it although after seeing her splashathon tonight, I think she might need to go in the big bath soon. The one thing I've bought and not really used is sleeping bags. I find them difficult to work in to our bedtime routine. _________________ ![]() Posted: Wed Mar 25, 2009 9:50 pm
Post subject: I never wanted moses basket as I thought it wouldn't be any use. About a week ago I found out it's missing piece at home. Went to husbands dad's for few nights and had to borrow friend's because Dominic wouldn't have where to sleep. Would be quite use in our livingroom too, he doesn't like to sleep upstairs in his cot during day. No use of baby wipes, find them kind of sticky, better use is water and cotton balls. Couldn't do without baby carrier, have no car so it's brilliant to put Dom in the "kangaroo pocket" go shopping with both hands free. I do use baby bath, have got wooden desk on the top of bath so don't have to bend. No use of water thermometer, just use my elbow. Muslins are brill...

Post subject: A month in I now feel qualified to add to this list:
baby bath - use the big bath with Dad or sink breast feeding related equipment - the boobies malfunctioned early on Mamas and Papas bouncer chair - too upright and William hates it. Newborn clothes - the little porker outgrew them in 2 weeks Huggies nappies - scratch his little legs
Sick squares (muslins) - for sick (baby and animal), wee, spillages, sun shade and so much more Bibs - reduces washing Baby Bjorn carrier Dummies sleeping bags v shape cushion - for feeding, propping up on bed Always nighttime pads - much better than cheap ones camera - so many photo opportunities shower curtains - for protecting furniture and carpets during nudey time glider chair - just so comfy laptop - for music, AB and Skype Pigs' ears and biscuits - for keeping the dog entertained while I feed William _________________

Post subject: Just come across this page, so useful! Don't think I've bought anything useles yet from the sound of it
Not sure what to do about a moses basket. Should I try and put the cot in our room perhaps for the first few months? My travel system has a pram insert but not an actual carrycot to take off. Our bedroom isnt very big unfortunately so I dont know how well the cot would fit in? Any advice welcome! X _________________

Post subject: Hi girls
I'm writing this in the defence of baby baths!!!!!!! I love mine and wouldnt be without it. Our family bath is huge and I would lose ellie in it so I put my baby bath in the big bath and its the perfect solution. I agree about never having enough bibs and the changing table is a godsend. I also hated tommee tippee back to nature bottles as I couldnt read the numbers on the bottles - I switched to Mama ones and they are fab! Total waste: shampoo baby soap talc too many new born clothes xxx _________________ ![]() Posted: Fri Jan 01, 2010 6:14 pm

Post subject: I can't think of anything we've bought that was a waste of money.
Heres what we couldn't live without bed pad to go on changing mat, its cloth and she wees at every nappy change, saves loads of washing. Johnsons baby box. Lives in the bathroom ready to go Bath support sponge. She lays on it and i wash her. Ducks for the bath, she loves kicking them about. Bibi formula dispenser. measure out formula before you go, so when you out just tip it into the water. Sleeping bags, settles so well now at night. Bag that folds into a changing mat, not everywhere has good baby change facilities. (Ikea however is amazing for it!) Just bought an activity gym that goes over her and after first use she was rolling on her side! An elevated changing mat, was getting such bad back crouching over! We also wouldn't be without our baby bjorn carrer. Had a cheap carrier at first and it was rubbish, baby bjorn ones are amazing! Sorry bit long there _________________
