Post subject: moses basket
hello all

do you think itīs worth investing in a moses basket?

i already have a second hand cot (still to be checked over) courtesy of my sister - but I think I will need to buy a new matress for that.

I have seen a couple in there, there's a nice white one but the stand has to be bought separately.

Post subject: STAND
Do you think I actually need a stand?

could the moses basket be used inside the cot - or would that be a waste of money do you think?

well you'll probably need a stand if you are planning to use it without the cot.you could put it inside the cot if that makes you feel a bit better about the safety of your child,it's completely your decision but if you get a stand, then you can have the option how you use it.

Those sleeping bags are really good,my cousin bought a few for her daughter cos she riggled like mad,now she can't!
Can't you ask your sister if the cot etc is ok?Im sure she wouldn't give you anything that wasn't good enough.

i have a moses basket but only as my brother gave me a brand new one so didnt say no! my first daughter was in hers for 4 weeks and straight into a bed, and 2nd daughter went into a cot from basket at 3 weeks. theyre great as u can have baby next to the sofa or take basket into the bathroom with u so u can watch the baby while having a bath e,t.c.

I've got my moses basket from my mum which is now 27 years old but it's one of the old fashioned sturdy wicker ones. We just bought a new mattress and stand for it and it looks so nice. It's much bigger than the ones we saw in mothercare too so will hopefully do a little while for us next to our bed xxx
