Post subject: Hi Tina,
Congratulations on your baby girl. My labour went smoothly too and i was only in labour for 3 and 1/2 hours, i say only but it doesn't mean it wasn't as painfull, hehe. I tried to breast feed but i just bled so the midwife advised me to put him on the bottle because he hadn't ate for so long whilst i was trying to express. How about you? Problems! Well firstly he's got an umbilical granuloma that he's got to see a peadiactric surgeon about. He's very constipated and at the moment is very dependant on lactulose and he also is a very hungry baby which is causing his constipation to be worse. How about yourself, have you hit any problems? Are you managing to get a full nights sleep yet? Emma xxx Posted: Sat May 03, 2008 8:06 pm
Post subject: hi agin,
i never tried breast feedin lois i put her straight on the bottle, she became constipated a week after she was born and wen she did manage to go she was findin it very difficult as it was very hard, followin my mothers advice as she seams to talk more sence than my mid wife did, i gave her boiled water between her feeds and vasile on her bum wen she was tryin to poo to help her pass it, it really helped and she was fine within a few days, wat milk are u feedin him and how much is he havin? also it may be worth tryin a product called ashtons and parsons, its a herbal powder and u can buy it from boots, its wonderful for teethin which she is at the mo, wind, stomach upsets and all sorts, i swear buy it, and be coz its herbal is not harmful, im gettin a full nites sleep now, ave been for the last few weeks, lois sleeps 12hrs a nite now, please e-mail bac wen u get a chance coz i'd really like to give u any advice i possibly can, it also helps that my m8 is a nurse on the maternity ward, so any questions i have she can answer tina x x x Posted: Sat May 03, 2008 8:22 pm
Post subject: Hi Tina,
Hope all is ok? I've been giving Liam two 4oz bottles of boiled water a day inbetween his feeds. I am feeding him SMA white for hungrier babies which hasn't made any difference to his feeding times. My health visitor is coming to weigh him on tuesday and if he's gained too much she wants me to put him back onto SMA gold(normal milk)? His constipation goes when he has lactulose but as soon as i stop it, he's constipated again so i'm not sure that, that cream would work. As for teething i think Liam may have started to teath today so thankyou for the advice, i'll have a look at that stuff. What are you feeding Lois to get 12 hours? Liam started to sleep for longer 3 nights ago, the most being 9 hours. Which is great! Hope to spk soon Emma xxx Posted: Sat May 03, 2008 8:41 pm
Post subject: hi
blimey he is a very hungry baby, my husbands friends baby was like that, they took him 2 the docs and it turned out he was allergic to the milk, so had to change it from sma to cow and gate, my nurse friend is wiv me, she told me that cow and gate is a richer formula than sma so u could try that, some babys need it as it fills them up longer, im givin lois 7oz of sma white every 4 hrs during the day and that seams to do her lovely so she sleeps thru, does he have a dummy? wen lois was born i found she was always lookin for food, or so i thought, she'd take the bottle but only really wanted somethin to suck on so i give her a dummy now and she loves it x x x Posted: Mon May 05, 2008 9:37 am
Post subject: Hi Tina,
I saw the peadiatrician with him last week to see if he was allergic to his milk but he's not luckily. I now give him 2 6oz bottles then a 7oz water, 6 scoops bottle then 2 6oz bottles etc. This is to help with his constipation and he has started to sleep straight thru now aswell so i think it's the perfect solution. He has a dummy but very rarely has it coz he's always smiling and it just falls out neway, hehe. How's everything going with Lois? Is she still sleeping straight thru? Emma xxx
