Right ladies. I have decided I am going to go for my first ever smear. What do I do.....where do I go and who do I call.... (no ghost busters jokes pls!!!)

and then....OMG what if there is something wrong.....I think that is what is putting me off going.

Any help much appreciated as usual ladies! xxx

Hi cassita, thanks great news.
All you need to do is book an appointment with your doctor or nurse and then they will do a smear test for you.

....and, don't worry about having an abnormal smear. I'm sure you will be just fine and if the worst did happen, which it won't, cervical ca is the most easily and successfully treatable of all the cancers. I'm the proof of that. But you will be fine. Like the rest have said it takes seconds. I find the worst bit is the speculum but at worst it's uncomfortable and, if you get a torn faced nurse, cold!!!! But don't you chicken out. You'll wonder what all the fuss was about when it's over X
