What type of job do you do? If I had managed to last til my maternity leave date I would have been 32wks but had to be signed off sick. I know some people who have sit down office jobs are able to last a bit longer but I dread to think about trying to work in a few weeks time! xxx

My last day is my due date-lol
Three weeks ago I switched to light duty-so I'm doing office work-Thank God!!
My advise is just listen to your body! I thought I could keep doing my job, but realized it was too much and most companies have to accomadate you with an alternate work situation.
I work in a maximum security psychiatric hospital with mentally ill criminals. When patients became fixitated on my pregnancy, I had to change positions!

i work in adolescent mental health and all have noticed my bump....they are very excited but i do hope no one becomes fixated on my pregnancy. Or that i become part of some delusional ideas.

Post subject: Up to you
Hay there, I really think its up to each person. I finished a demanding job where I was in and out of a car all day and on my feet the rest of the time the week before I was due. I then spent that week spring cleaning the house and I felt great. I was growled at by my midwife though!!!! See how you feel, your body will tell you when enough is enough or your husband will. GOOD LUCK!!!

Wow, tealbutterfly, we're in similar fields!
Before I told Anyone I was pregnant, a patient approached me and said that I would be having kids soon! I have seen with mentally ill patients that they have a primal instinct. I later found out that he became fixated on the last pregnant woman so I was advised to avoid contact with him. I received lots of compassion from certain patients and also increased anxiety from patients regarding my leave. I thought it was best to terminate sessions with notice rather than not showing up one day due to me delivering!
Good luck!!! How far along are you?
