2 cord vessel

Post subject: 2 cord vessel Hello,
At my 20 week scan I found out that I only have a 2 vessel cord instead of the normal 3. I am soo worried as this carries risks, early birth, kidney prob's and down's. Is there anyone out there who has experienced this and can help me relax about the whole thing. I go to see my consultant on Friday but can't help worrying.  Posted: Tue Aug 07, 2007 9:37 am

I just had my 20 week scan yesterday and was also told that my baby has a 2 vessel cord instead of the normal 3. The baby was checked over thoroughly and as no obvious problem were found I was told not to worry and to come back in 8 weeks for a growth scan. Ive checked my Scan report and it said that kidneys, heart etc are all as they should be so I'm trying not to worry too much. I would be interested to know what your consultant on says on Friday if you wouldn't mind letting me know. Hope all goes well. Sue xx
