Who has had a premature baby ?

Post subject: prem babies I had my litlle boy at 36+4 weeks and he wirghted 6lb. When he was 2 days old he devloped Joudies and lost wight right down to 5lb 4oz which was scary. H is now 11 weeks ol and is beautiful and is 9lb 6oz xxxx

Post subject: I had my little man at 30 wks and he weighted 2lbs 11oz. I knew I was going to have a prem as I suffer from high BP before getting pregnant and was worse throughout the pregnancy. They wanted to deliver him at 28 wks but but I had a doc on my side who wanted to wait another few wks. I was given the steroid injections at 27 wks.
He was fairly ill but pulled out his breathing tube after 2 days as he wanted to breath on his own. I should have known then what trouble he was going to be.  he is 5yrs years old and perfect (who else can say that only his mom) 
I swore I would never put myself through that again but here I am, ttc # 2  _________________

I have only just found this website and it's great to see people who have been through the same things talking about them - I wish I had found you all earlier! I went into labour with Elanna whilst on holiday at 26 weeks but thankfully was taken to an amazing hospital in north wales who managed to sort me out and keep her in a little bit longer. I was kept in for 10 days before they would let me travel back to Dorset. After a 10 hour drive back home, we were only back for a morning when I went into labour again (28 weeks) and after a 32 hour labour Elanna was born. She weighed 2lb 12 but was very healthy thanks to the steroid injection and care we received. She was in SCBU for 8 weeks before they would let her come home but is now nearly caught up at 21 months. She has been an absolute dream baby (most of the time!!) but very determined - I guess that comes from these little babies having to put up such a fight from day one. Posted: Sat Jun 27, 2009 3:08 pm

Im glad lil amiee is ok =) I had my son Cameron at 26weeks on 12th march 09 and he weigh only 2lb 4oz and was ventilatered for a while and got cronic lung disease and went through alot its amazing how strong and brave babies can be and he made it through and came home on my due date 16th june 09 and is currently on oxygen, doing well and is weighing almost 7lb now. did u all hav sections or did some of u give birth naturally? and did ur babys arrive early due to placenta not feeding baby? and how did u find out that was the case? _________________

Post subject: I had Lily at 30 + 2 weeks, she weighed 3lb 7.5oz and spent the first month in hosp but im glad to say she is a normal healthy baby now and was 7 months old today, she now weighs 14lb 6.5oz. So hard to believe how small she actually was
I had a natural birth, 9 hours labour  Doctors still have no idea why she was early_________________
