Post subject: Help! Me and my partner have been trying for a baby for 4 years!
Went to my GP a while back to be told we cannot concieve naturally! My partners sperm count is less than 1 million. I got told I may have PCSO. But had no testing. Then to be told to lose two stone and get my BMI down to 30 or less which I have recently achieved! Phoned hospital 3 weeks ago to say my BMI is down to 30. They told me to phone on the 1st day of my cycle (which is due 01.03.09). Then on that day I have to go to hospital to have a vaginal scan (not sure what this means)! Was wondering what stage would be next for me! Does anyone know? I am hoping someone who is going through similar problems will be able to help me! PLEASE! Thank you. Post subject: Hi hun, a vaginal scan is where they gently insert a tiny camera scan thingy into your vagina to check how your uterus is. I would call your clinic and ask them to talk you through the investigations you will have.
Good luck hun, as far as i know a low sperm count and pcos are not barriers to achieving pregnancy through ICSI. _________________ sept 2008 failed vas reversal July 2009 ICSI, BFP but lost to severe OHSS Nov 2009 Surgery to remove damaged ovary October 2010 2nd ICSI, short protocol BFN trying to raise funds for round 3, hoping to cycle august 2011 Posted: Sat Feb 28, 2009 6:16 pm
Post subject: Hi hun,
ICSI is where they inject a single sperm into a single egg so having a low sperm count will not effect it. You would be given drugs to make you produce several eggs and then they will be injected with a sperm and put back (max of 2 eggs at a time) The fab thing about ICSI is you only need 1 sperm What clinic are you going to? Do they have a website? Good luck _________________ sept 2008 failed vas reversal July 2009 ICSI, BFP but lost to severe OHSS Nov 2009 Surgery to remove damaged ovary October 2010 2nd ICSI, short protocol BFN trying to raise funds for round 3, hoping to cycle august 2011
