20 week scan Placenta - post

Post subject: 20 week scan Placenta - post Hi everyone, just had my 20 week scan - all is well, 2 arms 2 legs, a heart, stomach and brain etc!! Also found out it's a boy, don't ask me why but my husband and I were convinced it was a girl!!!
The question is, when I read my notes after the scan, they've written Placenta - post, not low. Does anyone know what this might mean?? Thanks for your help!! Posted: Sat May 31, 2008 3:57 pm

placenta post probably just means that its a posterior placenta ie. on your back wall rather than up front in your tummy. mine is posterior too, aparently thats better for the 3d scans otherwise its like trying to look under a duvet lol. not low would probably just mean that its not low lying ie not near your cervix which again is nothing to worry about. congrats on having a healthy little boy inside your tummy!! lol im having a little man too
