Post subject: Hi, I am 38 + 1 and my baby's head is not yet engaged

Post subject: sasha - with ur 1st baby head engages few weeks before labour but with 2nd it usually doesent engae till the end or even wen u r in labour so i wudnt worry too much.
is this ur first gayle? if so id defintly try to encourage ur little one. _________________

Post subject: Hi Laura yes it is...so I know that really the head does need to be engaged before I go into labour...I can't face sex, my boobs are hurting so nipple stimulation out of the question too...guess I better scrub some floors then!! Any other advice?

I think I might be in the beginning stages of labour but not sure?? 
Up to now was only experiencing what I've been calling niggly pains and been getting increasingly uncomfortable and so sleepy but yesterday evening I got the first period type pains a couple of times but no pattern as such, I also had a shooting pain in my breasts which woke me up. About 3.30 this morning I had a couple more period pains but then slept straight through and have just felt like I need to poo (sorry)  but up until this morning haven't been able to go and now I've been twice and larger stools than normal (sorry again!! )
I feel spaced out and just want to sleep but no waters (altho I felt a dribble down my leg earlier but think that was a one off bladder weakness) and no show that I'm aware of. I was due on Friday, does anyone think it could be the start? Vx _________________  Posted: Sun Dec 06, 2009 4:52 pm
Post subject: hello ladies not bin on ere for a while went for mi 36 week growth scan mon 30th nov and little girl hadnt gained any weight since 32 weekscan mi placentre wasnt workin properly they said little boys was fine and he was gainin weight said they wer gonna keep mi in and booked mi in for c section emergancy had them on 1st dec boy born at 01.19am and weighed 5lb13oz and girl born01.20am 2lb 14oz im ome now came ome on thurs3rddec little boy ome wi us but little girl in neonatle ward she being fed through tube breathin on her own from wen she was born didntneed help there but she has to stay there till she can feed by mouth we go and see her but its strange not havin her ome boy called zachary shaun-john and girl called kelsey -leigh

Post subject: Hi ladies i had my little boy charlie on Thursday 6lb 11 oz by c section. i'd been loosing my plug for a few days in bits and drabs on wednesday i just didnt feel right at 9am i lost a bigger dark brown bit of mucus just wanted to sleep all day at about 6pm had a slight ache period type pain . i was going up to bed at 9pm when my waters broke phoned hospital and was told to go straight there as my baby was breech(i was originally booked for section today 7th dec) Couldn't believe how busy delivery suite was there were four of us needing sections and only one theatre ! still little charlie entered our world at 11.38 on the 3rd December.What made the birth even more special was that a cd was playing in theatre ana as they lifted him out our wedding song flying without wings was playing followed by take thats greatest day. Hope all you mums to be have good births x

Congratulations to all of you who have had your babies, I think i'll be trying to get things moving soon. Had no signs as yet, just constantly want to sleep! _________________

val1 - my labour started with louise exactly how ur describe had lower bak paina nd period pain and felt like i needed to poo. so maybe it cud be soon. gd luck. shrekfiona - congratulations on ur arrivals. glad there doin well. and stay strong she will b home wiv her brother soon. icklevic - congratulations on ur little boy sounds like he just cdnt wait. _________________

Post subject: My baby has arrived!!!!! Morning ladies - hope everyone is well.
Well - I had a baby Girl on Thur 3rd Dec at 10.56pm weighing 7lbs 7oz. We have named her Poppy. 
Had a nitemare week last week, everything kicked off on Mon and was still just 2cm at 5am Thur Morning, baby back to back with me. Ended up on a drip and having epedural 10am that morning. Managed to avoid a c setion (which Im told is pretty rare in my situation) but needed forcepts to turn her. Got home Sat afternoon
Life is just perfect now - couldnt imagin it wivout her!!! MW out later today to weigh her - fingers crossed she'd not lost too much. Take care everyone and I'll b intouch soon. Kxxxxxxxxx Posted: Tue Dec 08, 2009 1:22 pm
