Post subject: Triple bloods?
Anyone have these done and get high risk result? I'm at the hospital tomorrow to see what my options are, I know for sure we are not opting for amnio test. Anyone else out there who can offer any advice?

Thanks hun, we opted for the earlier scan, not 100% like amnio but not prepared to take that risk, it's 1% apparently but thats still 1 too much

Have you thought about a nuchal scan and blood test smurf???
We had to pay private but my midwife told us the results are more reliable than the triple test.

Laughing no probs hun, I wasn't even told this was an option private or not...or I'd have had it, why between that time frame?

The time frame is important because the nuchal fold at the back of the neck holds a certain amount of fluid which disappears at about 13 weeks. If the fluid is excessive it can be a marker for Downs. Some places do the scan for free but I live in East Yorkshire and had to pay 200.00 for a private scan. It doesn't give a definite yes or no like an amnio but does give you a risk factor, so you can then decide to have the amnio or cvs for a definite yes or no.
If I hadn't had the nuchal I would have had the triple test.
Hope this helps hun Very Happy

I had the triple test and at 38years old my results came back as high 1 in 70 I think. I didnt really want an amnio but booked a private scan. The lady said the my Lo had very long legs and could not see anything wrong. Downs children typically have short legs so didnt have the amnio. Everything was ok and LO is perfect. Hope everything is ok with you.
