Post subject: Early scan, mixed results
So I had a early scan last night and not sure how to feel about it Question

Im only six weeks but on arrival the doctor felt my stomach and said i feel alot further along so they would do a normal tummy scan instead of vaginal. As soon as the machine was placed on my tummy i could see the baby sack but it only measured 5w 2d and had a yolk but no fetal pole Crying or Very sad The doctor seemed to think that all was ok just too early to see the heartbeat. What do you think?

I will be rescanned in two weeks but that seems a long long way away:(

She also said my uterus was rather large, high and tilted forward hence why im showing so early. Looks like it wasnt in my head after all. Any thoughts?

Thanks for reading all comments possitive or negative welcome I just would like some answers????

At this stage its normal to not always be able to see anything especially with an external scan, maybe you ov'd a little later than day 14 so you are closer to 5 weeks than 6 ? Sometimes though women who measure behind on one scan will suddenly catch up on another , i'm sure everything will be much clearer at your next scan the difference a few weeks can make is amazing and there's no set position for your uterus to be in everyones is a little different, mine tilts back so with my first I had only a tiny curve still at 20 weeks and no actual bump until 28 weeks Question Whereas some women can't fasten their pants at 8 weeks and are in maternity clothes by 12 weeks its all normal just different Smile xx

When I had a 6 week scan they tried on my tummy first and couldn't see a heartbeat, so they did a vaginal and there it was. I wouldn't worry xx

I wouldnt worry yourself hunni, my cousin had an early scan last week due to severe cramping, they tried to do a scan on her tummy and saw no heartbeat, they then did a vaginal scan and there it was!
A healthy heartbeat and baby Very Happy And she was only 6w3d, so it could b the same for you if your measuring only 5weeks Question

You'll be amazed at the difference at your next scan! Let us know how you get on! Smile

After some bleeding I had a scan (they only saw a sac at that point and said I was probably only 4 weeks (which didnt work out as I had known for nearly two weeks!), then four days later there was a sac and fetal pole but no heartbeat and they moved me up to five odd weeks (which made more sense) then ten days later there was a sac, fetal pole and heartbeat.

I hated the waiting and felt sure that something would go wrong; however I am now 30 weeks and getting everything ready for the arrival of my little girl! Very Happy

The sonographer was actually shocked at how much baby had grown in those four days!

I am sure everything will be okay for you! Good Luck!
