Post subject: Bumbo - or not??
Just wondering how many of you think that bumbo's are great - or otherwise unsafe?
Ive always thought they are unsafe, offering little support etc.. therfore have always taken a dislike to them - but many mums praise them for being a cosey place for babies (within age ranges) to sit, play and sleep.

This is a bumbo (in case you dont know hehe)

I've always been wary that people might try and use them before babes hips have developed and strengthend but id use one at the correct age. Would have been nice for him to sit near me while I was doing a chore etc. Just wondering if its worth the money tho, by the time they are strong enough to sit supported like that is isnt long before they can sit unaided anyway............... Question

My brother bought one today for my 14 week old girl, I sat her in it for 10 minutes, and she loved being able to sit up properly with her back supported. I think she will come on leaps and bounds with sitting unsupported!

HOWEVER, because there are no straps, i would never leave her unattended!

Mines Pink by the way, and looks sooooo cute!!

I personally never bought one but a few of my friends bought them for their kids. They look good but practically they are pretty useless.
By the time your baby should fit in it safely they are already sitting unsupported and want to be free to roll around.

Perfectly safe for a baby that can hold its head up but not sit up. However, would not leave unattended in it and would not advise a baby sleeping it!? Cant imagine how a baby would be able 2 sleep in it?!
My son had one and used for a short while but he used 2 get really annoyed in it and tried to pull him self up and out of it, so stopped using it. He also did a poo in it once lol, think he must of thought it was a potty haha Very Happy Very Happy (not that he even nos wat a potty is haha )

Did come in handy while I was weaning him thou, as didnt think he'd be able 2 sit in a highchair.xx
