Fruity chicken

Take a chicken breast and steam it til tender then puree/chop to your desired consistency
Take dried fruit eg. apricots or whatever you want to use and cook in boiling water for 5 mins to soften skin, put through mouli to remove skins
Mix with chicken

Simple and quick and can be eaten hot or cold - Chicken loves this cold

Its an Annabel Karmel Recipe and Oliver loves it Very Happy

Its a good source of protein and iron.

LOVELY LENTILS

1/2 small onion finely chopped
4oz carrot chopped (i used frozen)
1/2oz celery chopped
1 tblspoon of veg oil
2oz split red lentils
7oz sweet potato (I added mine seperate [when serving it to Ollie] cos I already had a bag full of cubes)
14fl oz of veg stock..less if your adding your sweet potato seperate.

Saute the onion, carrot and celery in the oil for 5 mins or until soft.
Add the lentils and sweet potato and pour over the stock. Bring to the boil, turn down heat and simmer for 20 mins.
Then puree in a blender to the consistancy you want. I did mine quite lumpy as i'm moving Ollie onto stage 2.

Great recipe thanks so much, i am going to make it now for my 9 month old son!

Ive just got a baby food book in a gift pack from mother and baby. The book is called
"The ultimate baby and toddler meal companion" By Annabel Karmel.

Ive just started to wean my LO and some of the recipes look fab. It gives u meal ideas from when u first decide to wean ur baby till they are 2yrs old and also gives u meal planners for all different stages of weaning and tells u how much milk ur LO should be havng along with meals. Very Happy

mashed apple, mashed banana, half boiled egg, arhar dal (yellow pulse) which has only salt and no chilli in it are few nutritious things you can give your kid who has just started eating solid food..Although you can find out the basics on what can be given during this time and will eventually be able to make your own recipes...i got a lot of info from forums like this and blogs which are exclusively posted by the baby products forums like babeezworld etc.
