Post subject: ladies whos had a prem baby i know it could be a few weeks yet before lacey comes home but ladies whve have a prem baby was u nearvy on bringin ur little 1 home i know laceys not my 1st so i know what to do i think its more of her being prem im gonna be more nearvy of bringin her home about as she'll still be tiny and still not as strong as a full term bubz how did u mums feel when u brought ur little premmy home when they was allowed home and how old was they b4 they came home

Post subject: Aimee came home when she was 3 weeks and 1 day and she only weighed 4lb
I was nervous anyway as she was my first baby so i didnt know any different, to be honest, i was just so glad to have her home. My health visitor came out every week for 6 weeks which was a great help, she reassured me that everything was fine. How is Lacey anyway ? Post subject: Aw god love her, what a wee soul.
She'll be home before you know it and im sure you will just be glad to get her home and wont be nervous. Put it this way, she's already bigger than what Aimee was when she came home and even i managed to cope and i was pure rubbish at the start, i hadnt even changed a nappy before she was born... except my sisters and she's 20 now

Post subject: my wee one was 7 weeks early and weighed 4lb 3.5oz i got him home after four weeks i was breast feeding but he hadnt put on much weight when we got home but his breathing was fine and he could regulate his own temp. he was my first and although i work on a childrens ward i was nervous bringing him home however you soon get into a routine and with stacy been your fourth wont take you long to get back in the swing of things good luck

Post subject: Hi there Izzy was 7 weeks and 5 days prem and was ventilated for 2 days she came home after 2 and half weeks weighing 4lb 3oz. II will say I think it took her another good 4 to 6 weeks before she was fully able to suck like a term baby and this stressed me the most as she seem edto struggle but she is 5 months old today!!!! and is 12lb 9oz and is now starting to wean and has no probs sucking!!!I was petrifoed as we got so used to machines telling us she was o.k.
On the ride home my hubby drove about 10 mile an hour!!! I was really worried about her catching things and people holding her but now I still worry but those fears do go your lil one be home in no time good luck and keep us posted how you are all doing. _________________

Post subject: My Annie was 11 weeks premature. She came home 5 weeks 5 days later weighing just over 4lb.
She was so easy to look after, she slept almost constantly and just fed every 3 hours (we had to set the alarm at night). I didn't bath her regularly till she was past her due date as she wasn't keen on being cold, I just top and tailed her. She's 6 months now and weighs a massive 14lb 3oz. Post subject: Aw you poor thing. Tayla was born at 3.8lbs and allowed home 3days later! I was terrified if im honest. My first baby to but as she was so tiny i was abit scary. Im sure you will do fine though, good luck hope shes home soon x

Post subject: Lily came home a month old weighed 4lb 7oz, i was really nervous as she is my first baby but everything went really well and i found that she was extremly content, porbably due to the nurses having her in a routine for me

Post subject: My son was 10 wks early and weighed 2lbs 11oz at birth. He was in hospital for over 7 weeks but came home he was 5lbs 4oz. I was nervous I suppose as I was living in another country and no family around but I wasnt worried about his size as I saw him grow so much.

Post subject: Georgia was born nearly 5 weeks early weighing 5lb 9oz and we got to go home when she was 4 days old. i did feel nervos as she was down to 5lb 1oz after losing 8oz so was scary thinkin wot if she dnt put on weight.
she gt weighed yesterday tho and has stayed the same 5lb 1oz. so hopefully nxt week wen she gets weighed she will have started to gain. _________________

Post subject: My two were born 10 weeks early - 2lb 12oz and 3lb 9oz. They came home following a 6 week stay in SCBU, so were 36weeks gestation. They were both around the 4lb mark, one was slightly under and came home perhaps a little sooner than planned as Keilidh was screaming so much at night as all she wanted was mummy's boobie! The poor night staff tried everything to pacify her
I managed to tandem breastfeed right up until they were 15/16 months old 
They are 3.5 years old now and doing fantastically, totally caught up with other children born at term and signed off from all consultants with no long term health issues. We took them swimming early on and continued right through which has really helped with their lung capacity. Considering Keilidh was on a ventilator for a few days followed by CPAP, you would never know. It helps them cope with colds etc too. Definately something I would do again. _________________ IVF 2005. Severe OHSS, 3 embryo's frozen. FET Nov - BFP 19-11-05! EDD 01-08-06 - TWINS!!
