Tell her to back off - he's ur hubby! you wanna be there for him not stuck at home worrying about him!
Think you should tell her to stay behind and look after the kids.
(easy for me to say I know but its not fair!)

she made it clear from the day i told her that her looking after the kids was not an option and that night she phoned and said she is going, i really have no choice, she knows i want to go but she just doesn't bring it up and if i do she says, well me and ian are going, its upset me but i know that there is nothing i can do about it,

will your hubby not stand up for you?
does he know that you wanna go?
think he needs to stand up to his mom - cos sometimes its harder for partners to do so as you can feel its not your place to do so.

no rob isn't like that, he always tryies his best to stop an arguement and he knows what his mum is like and let me tell you, it so wouldn't be worth it with her, we could say what we want and she wouldn't back down. thank you though for seeing that it should be me there with him

That's just so selfish of her - did they actually cut the umbilical cord or is she still attached? LET GO WOMAN!

I hope everything goes ok with the surgery, sending you lots of love and hugs x x x x

I am so sorry to hear that Amy. I was sure she would turn round and offer to watch the children so you could go. It is so selfish. I wish him luck and I hope it goes well for him.
