Post subject: Saying hi
Im Jo, i joined the forum yesterday and have been having a good look around, you all seem very friendly and supportive.
I have had a positive pregnancy test (last week) but as this isnt a 'planned' pregnany, i have no idea of my dates. I have been to see my GP, who wasnt very helpful at all, he gave me a slip to hand in at reception and told me the midwife would be in touch (a week ago, but not heard anything yet) Im guessing i could be as far along as 9 or 10 weeks, but thats just a guess and i could be wrong.
I wish the midwife would hurry and contact me, my symptoms - well, my sickness is weak and comes and goes, i had a missed miscarriage 9 years ago, so im a little anxious, as with all my other pregnancies, ive been very sicky, especially first thing in the morning. However my boobs are very tender and im hungry all the time and have slight dizzy spells sometimes too, so fingers crossed all is well.
Anyway, i have 3 daughters - Amy-leigh - 14 Elise-may - 8 and Georgie-rae - 6
I look forward to chatting to you all

Firstly congratulations on your pregnancy. Secondly, is there another gp you can see? When I got pregnant with this one I had just had a miscarriage (and one just before that) so had no idea of my dates. My doctor sent me for an early scan and blood test and kept scanning me until the saw everything was fine. I really would ask to be referred for a scan especially in light of your past loss. Fingers crossed all goes well for you this time and you get a scan soon.

Thank you for the lovely welcome
I kind of expected my GP to say he would send me for a scan ASAP, thats what they did with my middle daughter (after my miscarriage) but he didnt seem to concerned at all, he gave me an abdominal examination and said he couldnt feel anything so i was definately less than 12/13 weeks (d'oh, i had already told him that!).
This pregnancy is different to my others, where i was very nauseus, i have a lot less symptoms, this is why im a little worried and darent get to used to the idea yet, just incase.
I will phone the surgery tomorrow, if they havent called me by the afternoon and will hopefully get a scan sometime early next week.
Thanks again for the welcome xx
