Does any think this is right??? im expectin in december and the babys father 1st words were i get 2wks paternity leave, since then stuff happened and we have split up, hes had no interest in the baby or me never even mentioned helping me buy stuff until I brought it up bcoz he was just going out boozing all the time, but he still wants to take the 2wks paternity leave when the baby comes around, now i know that he wont be at my house everyday from morning till night looking after the baby and me, he just wants lie-ins and time off work so i dont think he has any right in taking paternity leave,we arnt a couple, dont live 2getha and hes not gunna b supporting me or the baby just himself ............Does any body agree or think im wrong????

Just want other ppls views plz

Sounds like a right lazy sod. I'm not surprised you've split up, you're much better off without someone like that x x x

He can't take paternity leave unless he hands in your MATB1 form as proof of a pregnancy and as you'll be the one that gets this form just dont give it to him xx

Hi,
I am sorry that you have to do this on your own, but by the look of it, it is much better this way. He surely does not deserve you, and he should not be entitled to any time off, that's for sure. He has the guts....
All the best

Well done for getting rid of him - he sounds like a right waste of your time. With any luck he will not be able to get paternity leave, especially as he would not be using the time to be supporting you or your baby. Good luck doing it alone.

Hey hun,
When my friend had her son she had split up from babys dad and her mum was her birth partner and main support, so her employer gave her the paternity leave (she had to give in the MATB1 form) I don't know how common it is to do this but if your mum works maybe its something she could enquire about xx
